EDC fixed blade
Morning Guys
I've been carrying a CRKT folder for some time now and I love having it on me ALL the time. It goes everywhere. I've been looking to get a fixed blade to EDC as well for doing bigger jobs in and around my farm work. My budget is around R500 to R700. Not something that's going to kill the bank but that will also serve me well. What should I be looking at?

Re: EDC fixed blade
Since you will be carrying it on the farm, size may not be a issue for you. I like the Coldsteel Peacemaker 3. Full tang 11cm Aus8 blade, wicked sharp from the box. Technically a bootknife, but can be made to work on a belt. Not a pretty knife, but like all Coldsteels a working knife. Nice and light too. About R500 at Sharpedge.

Re: EDC fixed blade
In fact, Coldsteel uses Aus8 on most of their blades. A decent steel. Any Coldsteel that you like will do the job. I also like the Kershaw Secret Agent. Longer double edged blade, but also a awesome knife. R650 on Takealot, about the same at Sharpedge.

Re: EDC fixed blade
If it is for just your everyday farm jobs and not tacticool blackops frogman wetwork than take a look at a Mora knife.

Re: EDC fixed blade
Are you looking for a defensive blade or a utility blade?

Re: EDC fixed blade
One sided or two? The CRKT Sting II is a pretty handy little blade. It might be more aimed at defense but mine did everything I asked of it. Sells for about R900.
