That is one sizer Kob there Dave. Where was it caught?
I've caught plenty size Kob in the Keisikama river in Hamburg, gotta love those rivers!

Transkei is def the place to fish, esp. if you're into big jonny's and skates.

Caught very close to Port Alfred in the surf. Rivers have been a mess with the holiday makers skiing everywhere - thankfully they have all left now and life is dead quiet on the river!

    Nice Kob Dave.

One of my favourite to spearfish. They always get the heart racing when you see them which of course stuffs your breatholding ability.

Lost a nice big one to a Zambezi once off Scottburgh in KZN - he left the head on the spear and my eyeballs bulging.

    Well done.

Eish!! Got bitten off at Hlobane just before NYE by something massive, can only assume it was a big Zambie or Blackfin.
Fishing a whole eastern little tuna on a 200lb slide attached to 2 x 10/0 Diiatchi's. My rod got pulled flat, pulled the pension pipe flat... raw power.

Dave you should see the one Simon caught just off Strandfontein the other night! It's about 1,2m nose to tail! I'll see if I can get a photo of it before Julie cuts it up ;)

Eish!! Sizer fish, about 12-15kg range IIRC.
Only problem with the bigger Kob is they tend not to be very good to eat, some also have parasitic worms in the flesh. My max eating size is around 6kg mark.

Hey Geoff - that's a beaut! I would love a pic. I agree with Brendan - the smaller fish are deleesh!! and have no worms. I have sent you a PM.
