Looking to join a Sport Shooting Club. KZN Midlands

Hello all

I havent been active on the forum for about 3 years and looks like I have been missing a lot.

Im keen to get involved in some sport shooting, mainly pistol and rifle.

I stay on a farm close to Howick, in the KZN Midlands.

Can anyone please recommend a club that I could join. Im willing to travel to Pietermaritzburg If I have to.
I have heard of the Nottingham Road Club, but you need to know a member to introduce you unfortunately I dont know anyone there.

Any recommendations will be appreciated.

See if you can get more info on Mapstone Shooting Club, they normally host IPSC / SAPSA sanctioned shoots.

Ihawu firearms have a club and their members also participate in events all over KZN.

There is Midlands Practical Shooting Club, give them a call.
They use Mapstone range in Richmond for Leagues, not sure if they have a smaller range closer to home.

Otherwise give KZNPSA a call.

Do any (civilian) clubs shoot at the Merrivale military range next to Mphophomeni? It's close enough to you that you could drive there and have a look to see if there's anything going on. There's probably a range manager of some sort on site.

Maybe the guys at the airfield next door know something?

If you haven't yet, just phone them and ask. In my experience with plenty of clubs that seems to be a standard 'requirement' but the chairman or secretary will quickly just 'introduce' you when you hand in your form.
