I was just wondering if there are any guys out there who use a laser mounted on their rifles/scopes for hunting vermin at night or have any opinions if it works or if its just a gimmick!!

will a laser reach a jackals side at 300m?
I would say these new Green 300mW Laser pointers will be your best bet to reach 300m those things are ridiculously powerful...
if you do use the laser how will you use your light? i think that will be the biggest problem, using the two in combo. the first rule of night vermin shooting still remains. if you cant see it you cant shoot it. i havnt come acros anybody using it. i guess it wil have to be tested.
As badboytazz said there are some really powerful green lasers out there but i spoke to a guy at the gun shop and he made a pretty vaild point, the further away you are the larger the dot gets so at 100m the dot could literally cover the whole target he had them for sale and he suggested they more for air rifles etc...
or get an IR laser and nightvision scope ;)
I use the Laser genetics ND 40 works for me
Its not a laser dot but more like a laser spotlight
its just madly priced
I got a Lazer Genetics ND3 (green lazer light)that I use and it works well but its mounting system moves allot and does not stay in one position and that becomes a bit frustrating when hunting clever animals like Jackal but for culling antelope it is brilliant.
You will never correctly identify a jackal at 350m with a laser.
Only one thing works well there: Lightforce spotlight fitted with a dimmer!
