Have to agree with Grobbie on this one.
I make thoroughly cooked krummel pap in the microwave in +/- 12 minutes. No hours on stoves and burning of pots etc quick and easy.
Sauce consists of Extra hot chakalaka and Koo tomato and onion mix with extra onion added. Knorr Chilli beef stock cube with some beer.
Sure.
I take a 500ml jug of Braai Pap put it in a microwavable glass bowl. Then take one and a half (of the same jug) boiling hot water and pour it over the pap. I also add a table spoon of butter and a teaspoon of salt to the first jug of water stir until dissolved.
Stir all to make sure all the pap is covered or have soaked up the water. Place glad rap over bowl make small hole in center of glad rap over the bowl.
Put in microwave on high for 1 and a half minute. Remove glad rap carefully and stir with sharp knife or cut it up (crumble it with knife) Put Glad rap back over bowl back in the microwave.
Put back in microwave on high for another 1 and a half minute. Remove glad rap carefully and stir with sharp knife or cut it up (crumble it with knife) Put Glad rap back over bowl back in the microwave.
This time leave it in Microwave for 3 minutes. Remove glad rap carefully and stir with sharp knife or cut it up (crumble it with knife) Put Glad rap back over bowl back in the microwave. I normally repeat this step three times thats how I like krummel pap.
If you want it more crumbly repeat last step until desired crumble is obtained.
This normally feeds 4-6. If you need to make more just remember for every jug of dry pap add one and a half jugs of water. You will obviously have to repeat the last steps a couple more times as well.
Mieliepap with Cheese

1 can sweetcorn
In a deep 2lt dish, combine water, milk and mielie meal, and add the butter and salt
Cover the dish and microwave for 15min on 100% power, stirring with a fork at 5min intervals.
Beat a little of the hot porridge into the eggs, then beat the egg mixture quickly into the rest of the porridge.
With a fork, stir in the cheese and corn.
Cover the dish and microwave for 20min on 50% power, stirring at 10min.
Leave to stand for a few minutes before serving
Forget the relish, Have a BIG pot of gravy for this one.
People will forget it's cooked in the microwave and not on a fire
