    As far as I know, ostriches are normally culled from helicopter.

    The team that does culling at our reserve use, if I remember correctly, #7's for ostrich, AAA for pigs and the smaller antelope and LG for large antelope. Keep in mind that everything is shot from close range in the back of the head and high back of neck. I have seen a Mini 14 with a rds used for eland on occasion.
    Not everything is killed with one shot, follow up shots are sometimes required but I have heard of multiple ostriches killed with one shot. Ostriches often run in a line so hitting more than one head with a shot from behind probably happens quite often.
