Antique blacksmith tools (chisels) valuation
Mods, if this is not the appropriate section please inform me where to move or post it.
I have an antique set of 9 blacksmith chisels I am looking to place a guideline value on. (photo below)
History would take it back to my great grandfather (possibly my great great) and passed down from there so they are a few years old.
I scratched them out yesterday from between tools in my folks garage, I now would like to clean them to be more presentable on the eye for a potential sale to a hand tool enthusiast or antiques collector I still need to find for my mom and who would appreciate their age and for what they are.
Someone was looking to buy them for a figure of max R1500 from her but my gut feel puts them further up the ladder in value.
The sentimental value is making me ponder on a few thoughts for myself.
The tools were last used many years ago by my grandfather in his youth.
I found the following visible stamp on one, the others may be visible when cleaned of dust, rust and debris.
Easterbrook
Allcard &co LT
Sheffield
Any thoughts from those in the know?

While old, they're not hugely unique. If you're in Jhb there are a number of antique shops around greymont, they might be able to give you an idea of value.
Maybe a few guys in the SA knife makers guild could help you?

Chat to a local farrier as well, they will also have insight on the tools.

Contact some of the known bladesmiths like Dragonforge, Heavinforge etc. They should at least point you to someone else.
