    Default The Shotgun for Home Defence | Lockdown Edition

    I admit that I assumed the worst when lockdown was announced and started planning for riots in the streets and roving gangs tearing a path through the burbs in search of food and any other items they could get their hands on.

    Fortunately it didn't happen. And fortunately it gave me the opportunity to truly appreciate the role of the shottie as a home defence option.

    LuckyGunner has a ton of really informative videos for novices like myself and I found the information extremely invaluable in
    1) understanding the shottie better;
    2) figuring out how to handle the weapon correctly
    3) how to set it up for HD purposes.

    This, of course, is not to say that it replaces proper in-person tuition with a skilled trainer - but it certainly did help me plug the holes in my knowledge.

    Check it out.

    No worries. Glad you found some value in it. Like I said, it's not a replacement for live-action training but it's definitely helpful in getting some of the theory down.

    For instance, I've never totally understood the push-pull technique and got to test it out after watching various videos (on repeat). That little improvement by itself has made shooting shotgun all the more enjoyable for me.

    A shot gun just makes a weak man feel better, a strong man stronger and a ready man - well he feels ready. I am no tactical wanna be, no a grensvegter trainee, but a shot gun at least, at the very least makes me feel i am ready, prepared and able.

    That too me goes a long way indeed.

    What tactic would you use when a family member is being held hostage when all you have is a sg?

    You have a point.

    Up to 10 meters I am happy with the pattern of my shotty to do certain IF’s.

    And I do carry 2 slugs for other applications.

    Now you make me have to plan to practice headshots with slugs.
