But I do need a sling on my shotgun to throw it over a shoulder when I feel my pistol in hand would be a better tool for the circumstances. And as it has loops I can just as well use that.
    Have you tried it on the range, while you transition between different targets which were spaced apart?

    Yip. With the shells hanging at the buttstock end and not fore end it is not a problem for me.
