458 Socom hunt
Hi guys, just to let you know I am still around!
I hunted some animals with my Socom a few days ago.All shots were under 80m and all were walk&stalk.
I only recovered the bullet out of the kudu, both his shoulders were broken by the 300gr Kriek bullet. The other
animals were complete pass throughs. The rifle is modded to single shot.

Re: 458 Socom hunt
I like that kudu picture - very different style to the typical hunting "trophy" photo.
Looks like it only had 1 horn?

Re: 458 Socom hunt
Agree with BBCT - the kudu pic wins for the reasons mentioned.
I also really like the detail in the pics of the recovered bullet - great mushrooming on what must be around 1900fps for the 300grn? It seems like the bullet design was very carefully done to get reliable feeding and good expansion out of the available MV. The Kriek bullets seem to be excellent wherever they are applied.
