    Hi Treeman

i must say you right about some good deals out there.

i did some homework and out on the one or two guns that i saw by the time i change the stock and forend and put sights its almost the same as buying a gun that is ready to go.

    Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

I would save a little more or do something to earn extra bucks.

The 1301 at that price point is exceptional value. You can also apply it to different uses and it will excel in meeting your requirements, be it informal clays, pigeon hunting, practical games and so on.

If I could have only one, this would be it. If the allowance was bigger I’d say a Benelli M2 SP.

Before getting a Maverick or Mossberg have a read through this thread https://www.gunsite.co.za/forums/sho...nd-Maverick-88

I own a Maverick and love it, but it is worth knowing before handing over your randelas.

What makes a shotgun the truly versatile platform that it is, is removable chokes.

Most "budget" shotguns in pump and semi auto have no chokes.

I have four Turkish semi-auto’s and have never had a piston failure. I’ve also never heard of them having a propensity to do so.

Is Remington an expensive brand in RSA? Remington 870 would be my no-brainer answer to the bang for the buck dilemma...

    Edit: missed your post Meteor...
