Isn't 303 a bit puny to go with the mortar sights?

there is a mention somewhere about dropping in of a barrage of bullets on a enemy camp at 1.3km away. It was common practice too drop a load in on a camp at that distance.

I always chuckle when folk mention how rainbow like the trajectory of the 303 is and that’s why they prefer their flat shooting 7x57 mausers.

That is what the volley sights were for, pretty much harassing fire 🔥 n masses of troops. The idea was very Victorian but died during the Boer Wat and was buried during the Great War where volley sighs we’re finally omitted

With respect to head-spacing, the Blou Meul have a gunsmith they use who can sort out your head space problems on the 303's. Sorted mine out a treat. My cases were only lasting 3 reloads until I had the head space sorted. Now on 8 and still going strong. I also anneal after every 3rd time and only neck size the cases.
