    Default Gas ring issue

    Hi all

I got new gas rings for my AR the other day (SigM400 in 5.56)

After I had put the new gas rings on, the bolt would not go back into the BCG.

I know there is resistance sometimes if you replace your gas rings but these rings seemed to be bigger than they should be. I tried a number of times but the fit was way too tight. With lube too.

On the packaging it doesn't mention caliber but I bought them through a well known dealer online that advertised them as being compatible with my rifle.

    Anyone had this before?

Are the rings able to compress into their recess on the bolt?

There may be carbon build up prevent them from seating properly.

Yes, I cleaned the recess well before installing.

The gas rings seem to be oversized which makes me wonder if they were meant for a larger caliber AR variant.

AR10 rings are about 2-3mm bigger, you should pick that up easily if you compare them to the old rings.
