    I can't see there being too much problem with licensing, it is semi autos that are tricky and I suspect whoever reads your motivation at CFR is not really too familiar with different calibers. But that is just like my opinion. Good luck!
    I've fired many many rounds of 12.7x99, to me it's really not that rough. The rifles are heavy, mine was 14 kgs. That mitigates much of the kick. I'd much rather shoot the 50 all day, than a 416 Rigby in a 4 kg hunting rifle setup.

    416 Rigby @ 4kg : Recoil Velocity 20fps
    50 BMG @ 14kg : Recoil Velocity 12fps
