Default changing from an occasional license to dedicated

So I’ve been involved in another discussion regarding dedicated status and I have a question on what I need to submit to saps

I have two rifles on section 15 occasional hunter licenses but I would like to change these both do a dedicated sports shorter licenses. I have done the theory and practical tests with NARFO and I can get the dedicated motivation from them to submit to saps.

But what other documents do I need to hand into saps with my motivation to change them.

I would assume it would be

    ID’s
    Photo’s
    Motivation from Narfo
My own personal motivation – can anyone perhaps assist me with an example of a motivation letter they have submitted and which has been successful
    Competency certificate
    Current license certificates
    Training certificates
    Motivations from friends
    Club membership evidence

Or is it not worth going this route and rather just applying for a dedicated license when i purchase my next rifle

    Thanks

Other than the 200 round limit I'm not aware of any benefit of a S16 over a S15.

They are very full of shit when it comes to changing sections, I have only ever been successful in changing a section when it was due for renewal, speak to your DFO and maybe take biltong with.....

thanks guys. just spoke to someone at Narfo and they also say it's probably best to just apply for my next license under dedicated rather than trying to change existing licenses.

Steven001 i think I'll try that when they are up for renewal.

Or when i get to the 4 rifle limit on ocassional

it's just a bit frustrating to only have 200 rounds for a 22lr.

But why are you then wanting to change these guns from 15 to 16

Just leave them on 15? I have a shotgun and handgun on 15
Doing another handgun on 16 soon

If you have Dedicated sport shooter status the 200 round limit no longer applies. This is not linked to which section your firearm is licensed on. However, some gun shops refuse to sell more than 200 rounds if you do not have a S16 license for the caliber. Check with your local shop to see what their policy is.
