Carbine advise
Hi guys so I am sure you have had this question before
I am in need of some advise on.
1.AR15 5.56/223 or AR22 ?
2.I have not done any competitions or challenges yet which would be the best to get into ? Keeping in mind I am also looking at getting a shotgun.
3.cost of rounds ?
I will be licensing the firearm under Section 16.

5.56 / 223 and .22 have different applications.Ideally one should own both. The .22 semi-autos often get used for plinking, family time etc; the 223's are slightly more serious.
The best way to decide what fits you is to contact a local shooting club and either just have a look when they compete, or preferably taking part. That will answer many of your questions.
223: R7-R10 per round for bought ammunition;
.22: R2-R4 per round
Semi-auto must be licensed under S.16.

Re: Carbine advise
The age old Gunsite question applies here: "what will you be using it for?"
Otherwise you may as well just get a 458SOCOM.

Re: Carbine advise
Hi Peace Officer
Sorry if i sound like a doos ?
i have not joined a club as yet so like DS J said i think i need to have a look that caters for carbine sport and then decide.
The reason why i asked the question between the the AR15 and the Ar22 is i dont want to get to a stage were it becomes to expensive to shoot in terms of round cost because i have chatted to a few guys and they tell Eish it got too expensive to maintain shooting.
