How Many Rounds Before Doing Damage To Your Barrel

I know of CZ75 shadows with confirmed round counts around 100k. Quite a few broken slide stops and some slides along the way. Now the barrels are definitely wider and groups are poorer, in the hands of shooters who can do well enough to notice.

I'd also imagine that the loads you shoot have an effect on barrel life, as with rifles.

Can probably be related to not changing all the springs at their relevant or more frequent intervals would be my guess.

All guns break if you shoot them. Replacing parts on a maintenance schedule does not stop that from happening, it merely delays it.

The point is out of all of the 100k plus guns I hear about running "flawlessly" a tiny minority are acutal round counts.

The other one is from a F/a instructor i know,.bet you he services it like it should ,cause he has too,no point in having an unreliable F/A when he has to teach other's how to use it.

Also this F/A''pre B'' still has the original slide stop from factory''he bought it new..His words"dont slam the slide forward on an empty chamber,.was not deigned for that purpose"

More than you will have in loaded mags, I'd wager.

Besides, just blindly sending lead downrange to heat up the barrel is idiotic. Fun, yes, but idiotic. Much nicer to spend that ammo doing something constructive, which rarely involves shooting a barrel very very hot anyway.

LOL Yeah a bit of both I think. I need the practice, so will concentrate on the correct technique and so on, and my friend definitely needs practice so slow and steady for most of the time. But a mag dump is fun so won't rule it out It used to hurt more when I used to pay for all the ammo, but I'm making him pay for his share now.
