RDS cover plate for milled slides
I want to mount a RDS in my Sig P320.
Obviously the options are: dovetail plate or mill the slide.
Do companies who mill slides offer a cover plate (similar to MOS pistols) that one could also buy?
I think this would make people more keen to go the milled route.

Re: RDS cover plate for milled slides
I would imagine that the guys should be able to make one for you. Go to MRST as I know for a fact that they have experience milling 320's. As I recall the 320 slide is hollow in some ways which limits the depth to which you can go.
They should be able to sort you out but if you've made the decision to go RDS then might as well commit to it fully. #noragrets ;-)

Re: RDS cover plate for milled slides
MRST milled my CZ Shadow. I didn't ask about a cover plate though.
Their workmanship and turn around time was out standing.

Re: RDS cover plate for milled slides
MRS milled my slide, and made me a cover a plate with my original back sight for my Shadow. I can now, should I choose, change between optic or original back sight - they did an excellent job!

Re: RDS cover plate for milled slides
I have a feeling once you go dot that cover plate will sit in a drawer somewhere and be forgotten

Re: RDS cover plate for milled slides
So they milled away where the back sight goes? And that is now on the plate? I spose that 's fine on a sport gun, but less than ideal on a carry gun IMHO
