Sorry removed the ammunition from the box, threw the box away. It was however none branded and packed in a square very cheaply made cardboard box

Just a pity wanted to get the Norinco ammo but now can't be certain of its worth the risk, buying 500 rounds that cannot work just doesn't help me

Did the box maybe look likethe attached photos? This is PMP milsurplus manufactured in 1984 at the Pretoria West plant. The packaging might be cheap, but generally the PMPmilsurplus is/was of a high standard.

Good advice has been given. Pull the bullets and reload to safe specs. Removing 2 grains might be the best. Resize the necks without the expander ball and primer pin. It will give you extra tight necks, but a bit of dry lube or an expander can lessen the effort in re-seating the bullets.

Hi, I've just shot-in my new Howa1500 in 308 using Norinco 7.62x51 ammo, no issues whatsoever, quite the opposite, if anyone knows where I can get more, please let me know.

Hailstorm usually have, else Classic Arms in Witbank. I think Classic Arms also sells the Norinco in 20 round packets if you don't want to buy a 520 round tin.
