Selling a gun before it is licensed
Bought a hk p2000 while waiting for my competency but now I've got a job offer overseas and will obviously not need it anymore the guns paper work has yet to have been processed. What are my options can I sell it on to someone else or do I have to swallow the 25% handling fee

Try but otherwise cut you losses. In theory you can sell it no problem because it is still on dealer's stock but you need to find somebody who is willing to buy it fast and pay enough for it to make a difference to the 25% handling fee.

You can ask your DFO to cancel your application and you can sell it to someone else. The dealer will give a new application to the new owner.
Just out of interest, what did the P2000 cost?

Re: Selling a gun before it is licensed
You say the app has not been handed in- sell the firearm at a bit of discount. The dealer will give the buyer a new 271, and then he applies as normal. 25% is a lot to give away

Re: Selling a gun before it is licensed
If you never fill your 271 in you can hand it to the person who buys the gun
