Default 2nd hand firearm sale agreement - experience and advice?

I'm in the process of buying a second hand shotgun, and am looking for advice as to what kind of contract to draw up that will be agreeable/ protect both parties. Is there a member who has a cut and paste template that I can use?

    To include things like:
Time lines with payment with respect to payments made, paperwork completed and sent to purchaser, and license application submitted?
Within this contract, is it fair to say: Pay a 50% deposit, then license, and pay the rest on collection?
Include some protection for the seller (storage fee) with time lines if the license doesn't come through?

What sort of guarantees to ask of the seller before you hand over money?

Can you have it taken into stock by a dealer? That will save you all the contracting and potential associated drama of it being in the hands of the seller till you are able to collect it and cost you just a little more.

I agree with this, store gun at dealer (storage costs for buyer), buyer pays seller and then the licensing process begins, end of story.

Last three 2nd hand firearms I bought all done through Tac Shack. Easiest and safest way is through dealer stock.

Can I ask what a dealer charges to put the firearm in stock, and store it until the license is approved (+/- a year these days?) I live on the Garden Route, but the seller is in CT, so I guess I'm looking for a dealer in CT. Any recommendations?

Most dealers in Cpt charge R150 - R200/month to store a firearm
