polishing will increase the size so your neck tension will be much less.

The amount of polishing to do to increase the final neck diameter of the die is.... You need to polish quite a long time. Full-length sizing dies that use an expander ball, like the Lee or Hornady, reduces the neck diameter quite a lot, letting the expander ball then do the expanding to the correct size. Once again, making it very unlikely that polishing the neck will cause a change in neck tension.

    Not.

you cant remove material from a die with burnishing compound. you cant even remove material from a die on a lathe. its too hard. all you can do is polish it. therefore, polishing a die wont change neck tension because no material is removed. .

I opened up a .429 Bullet Sizing die to .431.

However a Sizing Die is Carbide or in Hornady Titanium Nitride. Which is very hard.

Not sure if a Bullet Sizing die is also Carbide.

To open it I rolled it on piece of rubber. With Dowel through it and sand paper wrapped around it. It took quite sometime to go from .429 to .431
