After a week of fighting veld fires caused by lightning strikes. RAIN!

Fighting fires is no joke. I always got a hollow feeling in my guts when I saw smoke and knew what was coming. When there is rain afterwards a feeling of great gratitude sets in.

Nice pics TS. Love the smell of rain on parched earth.
There was a time in my life that I dreaded veld fires too - 1 SAI Oudtshoorn. The practice mortar bombs would start a fire every round. Eventually the powers that be banned them and only HE and Smoke from then on.
