I have met a guy that was shot point blank in the face with an AK... 5 shots. He basically has difficulty speaking and lost sight in one eye. Sean KZN's account is on par for AK bullets.

When I grew up my dad told me about a farmer in the district who tried to commit suicide with a shotgun and survived (ammo unknown).
He put the barrel under his chin and pulled the trigger. Front of his face was shot off, but he survived. His face was in a bad shape though.

So what is the moral of the story, aim for the heart or aim for the head?

Some guys suggest that you just go for the head if you are a good enough shot.

If you go for both do you go the traditional route of heart first and then head or does it not matter.

Whichever you can hit accurately, more than once.

Our neighbors brother did this as well, shotgun under chin, head probably held far back. He shot entire face away, just a living skull with no jaw.
We were told he lived for a few years there after, I do not know cause of death.

Her husbands brother made a home anti theft device for his car, a shot gun tied to steering column and string to clutch or break ? He caught himself out.
Both incidents were in Rhodesia, the Henns and the Du Bruin families.
