Default Statement of results for competency renewal - new rule?

My wife tried to renew her competency at SAPS Humehood in PE today. They asked her for a statement of results in addition to her training certificates. This is a first for me, the training was done so long ago I dont even know if the training providers are still around in order to give us the results. Is this a legitimate request???

What does a statement of results look like?
I have two certificates one for the Legal Test for the successful completion of Legal Test Knowledge of the Firearms Control Act 60/2000 U/S 11770 and one for successful completion of Handle and Use of a Handgun U/S 119649 49 BH 80828, and then the same for Rifle and Shotgun.

It contains your personal details and the number/s and name/s of the Unit Standard/s that you have completed and had registered by your Service Provider with PFTC.

I had to go through the same exercise recently. I had to do a further proficiency and competency for SLR and the training academy asked for my statement of results??? I had no idea what this was even though I have all other competencies already. Turns out because I did my first competencies pre-2014 (I think, please don't quote me) when the unit standard changed from SASSETA to PFTC I had to write the Law module again for the new unit standard to obtain the statement of results. In essence all it is, is a printout with your personal info and proof that you were tested on and passed the new unit standard (PFTC) for the legal knowledge required to be declared competent to possess or trade or gunsmith etc. depending on the competency being applied for.

it has the unit standards you completed on it. It will be separate from the certificate you get with the company name etc on it.
