    Default Disappointment in pure form.

2015 I took Cody on his first buck hunt (perhaps 2nd). We saw very little.
Some during day we saw some Spring buck on another continent, just those white flash's that are visible right across two farms. Cody was so exited, "lets go Dad lets go!) I explained that they were miles away and then explained what miles away meant, but to no avail his little heart was set and the Spring buck had fallen already.

To the words of "I don;t mind daddy" I can do it we set off on a very long walk over lazy rolling hills, in hollow see nothing, top of hill see for miles. When we got to the water tank the spring buck were not there, but we could see them two hills away and the same "I can do it daddy" played out. Two hills later the Spring buck were still two hills away and they kept it that way.

I found a photo last night of what I saw when I looked beside me at my 7 year old little man realizing that the Spring buck did not agree with his plans.

One of the proud moments I treasure, trying not to cry, trying to man up.

We got a Spring Buck later in day and he was so happy, begged to be allowed to fetch it and got so covered in blood.
I will always remember how much little things meant to him.
*Being the first to get to the animal.
*" Can I rip it dad, can I , please daddy can I ?" - meaning can he make the first cut.
*" When we get home can I peel it Dad ? " - he for a long time called skinning a animal peeling it.
*He called the tusks "tuskers" , "can I have the tuskers ?"

Memories, I have many, I be wealthy.
