Status of SAP 316 - Permit for Trophy, Curiosity or Ornament
These permits were issued for collectors etc. under the Arms and Ammo Act sec 45 (2) (a) (iii). As far As I know they have never been dealt with in the transition to the FCA. I have one for a pistol I imported in 1984 which was apparently never captured to the CFR. When I applied for white licances for my collection I included this one but it was never processed. Now I need to know the status of these permits but if they are no longer valid I will use the amnesty to regularise it.
Need advice please.
TIA.

Re: Status of SAP 316 - Permit for Trophy, Curiosity or Ornament
Hi Peter
Given that there is no provision in the FCA to handle these old permits, I would assume that they no longer have any validity. I guess that when the FCA was drafted no one remebered that such things exisited. Speak to one of our firearm lawyers, but the amnesty is probably the way forward.
