    Default Semi-Auto Shotty advise needed

    Evening all

I recently came to the conclusion that I am in need of a semi-auto shotgun. I joined in our club's 3Gun session and now need to purchase my own firearms to continue in the fun. I already purchased a S&W M&P 15 Sport2 so that part is sorted. But the problem is deciding between the options for the shotgun.

I have read some posts and can see that if money is plenty that the Benelli is the top contender (I have shot with the M2 and it was great)

I have done some research and found the Winchester SX4 to also be a nice firearm, but I dont see a lot of post regarding it and I am not sure of the local support on them. If anyone can share some info on these as well regarding the options between the SX4 Field and Raniero Testa versions (is it just cosmetics) I know the tube differs on them.

A friend is a Beretta fan and likes teh 1301 but after reading some posts I am not keen on it.

There is also the Franchi Affinity that seems like the poor mans Benelli, any info on these? Are the parts interchangable with Benelli or just the tubes?

    Thanks for reading :D

Thanks for the list. Any reason why you are not recommending the Winchester SX4?

Lack of aftermarket accessories from what I know.

I stand corrected but I believe there are Gen 2 Beretta 1301's that have now made their way into the country - so the pick-up issue is not really a consideration anymore.

Thanks for this. Do they list it as a Gen 2? Or is there another way to check?

Yeah. Will be listed as Gen 2 and the price will be a good indication too. Not to mention the new colours as well.

Years ago with my budget, I had to choose between a Benelli sg or a Fabarms SAT8 + Glock 21. I decided to go for the SAT8 and G21. I'm very happy with the sg but the spares and accessories might be a bit difficult to get and my SAT8 doesn't feed 65mm rds (puts 2 rds on the lifter) but 67mm no problem. I removed the pistol grip stock on mine because it is in the way when loading. How competitive do you want become?
