    Default Happy Days...

So I went to go hand in an application to apply for further competencies this morning.

Even though the SAPS website said my S16 handgun license was approved, but no card printed yet. I thought let me just ask the DFO, seeing as I'm here...

    It was there!

My Glock 17 Gen5 MOS came home today.

    Very chuffed.

So lesson to be learned from this. Your card may be at the DFO, even if the website is still showing otherwise.

I handed the application in late June 2020, it was approved on the 26th of November.

Nice! Waiting for a Glock 17 Gen 5 myself but decided against the MOS.

Thanks guys. I must say, it really sucks when you see it's been approved, but you must wait for the card. December felt like a lifetime, haha.

The DFOs really need to get on the ball and contact the license holders when the cards arrive. Was at my DFO a while back and there was a pile of cards of the table, maybe they had been contacted maybe they hadn't but it just adds to the extremely long wait.

A while ago I found my wife's card at the DFO after they insisted that it was not there because she had not received a sms. There was a number written on the paper to which the card is stuck. I asked what number it was and they said that is the number to which the the sms was sent. It was not her number.

To you guys here, how long since approved.

It would seem like the current wait is 6 weeks for the card.

I was approved 4 Jan 2021. So wondering if it is worth while to phone 4th of Feb 2021. aka phone after 4 weeks.

Live in Gauteng so not like the coastal places where they cant send someone every week.
