Late Afternoon at Kookfontein.
An old eland bull and an Egyptian goose enjoy a late afternoon snack.

Was that area where the eland is grazing burned before ? It looks like short green grass as opposed to the surrounding areas Nice photo by the way.

It was not burned but is is very popular with a variety of game animals so it is grazed down throughout the year. It is right next to my house, a lot of animals, eland and blue wildebeest amongst others, spend the night here. When the wildebeest calves are young it can get really noisy at night.
