    Default Sable Bull.

Two years ago, we established a herd of sable on the reserve. They have adapted well and several calves have been born. We will probably be hunting one or two bulls this year, Covid permitting. The Afrikaans name for these antelope is swartwitpens (literally meaning: black white belly), which is quite descriptive for mature bulls and some old cows. Most cows and immature animals are brown with a white belly.
