    Default Native Americans

Take time to listen to this through to the end (very interesting).

We have many Americans on GS and it would be nice for more sharing on a similar subject.

We must also remember that native Americans also were not all peaceful, the various tribes used to war with each other and kill one another.

Not sure if they were all like that or just particular tribes but war and fighting wasn't unique to the Europeans.

Not saying what was done to the native Americans was right, it wasn't, just that they weren't all peaceful.

Who would be peaceful when someone tries to take what is yours in a vast land with no law or order? We the Finns used to be tribal people of clans killing each other and the outsiders for resources until the Swedes crossed the pond and killed us with their horses and swords in the name of the Pope regardless of which tribe they encountered and finally united us into one Swede hating people. Sounds pretty much like the destiny of the indigenous people of America, but we eventually did prevail and kick the scum out of our country.

The native Americans didn't want to integrate and work from within the system and finally gain back their birthright to their country. I do feel sorry for their faith, but can not relate.

American native indians. Violent doesn't even begin to describe it. Tribes killed each other for any reason or no reason.
    The losers were enslaved.
Commanches would cut a notch out of the right side of the slaves nose to mark them.
If you could scalp your enemy before they died you would gain a higher status in the tribe and they would tie it to their horses bridle or to their lance and later on they would tie it to their lever action Winchester. And you thought that was decoration in the pics of indians in the 1800's
    And on and on.

America is not unique with stories of historical violence. Every country in the world experienced barbaruc savagery at some stage in their development - and that violence was not limited to the "native savages".

Hundreds of different tribes all with different culture and religion and beliefs at various times throughout their history.

Europeans did worse than scalpings to each other. There weren't any colloseums for slaves to fight to the death or be fed to animals while the crowd cheered, no crucifictions, no mustard gas dropped on thousands of young men in trenches.

What does anyone think will happen if technologically superior aliens come to earth, and want our minerals or land? They will take it

Had the technological playing fields been level, the world would be a very different place.
