Once when I shot at Kraaifontein, Kabous at VGK specially went to the shop and opened up for me on a Saturday afternoon 16h00, so that I could get my primers from him. He has always given me super service at very acceptable prices.

Kobus is a great guy and VGK was my go to shop when I stayed in Cape Town.

He no longer works at VGK.

    He resigned in December.

I agree that he is a great guy. :)

The news hasn't made it to this side of the Boerewors curtain yet.

'Decent' 9mm Range ammo is still pushing R300/50, sometimes more.

Used to get S&B / Federal every day of the week for R220 / R230.
That's now the price of the 'Factory Reloads'

Yuck. Yeah not quite as low as R220 down here, still R260 or R270 so only R40 difference I guess. But every bit helps.

So just to recap, Remington ammo is good and I shouldnt be scared of putting it through my firearm?

I dont want to use factory reloads due to all the horror stories

CHS *had S&B for R290 not R260, they no longer have anymore S&B, I'd know as I purchased the last few boxes last week. They have Badger 9mmP at R250 or Remington 9mmP at R290 though.

The Magtwch ammo is JHP though, FMJ are much cheaper for training purposes!

Their service is absolutely brilliant (Ayesha is the best)

They also have quite a few differing options of FMJ 9mm ammo at under R300 per box of 50.
+1 on Ayesha's service at CHS, absolutely top notch!

Yeah never rely on SA gun store websites I guess. Never heard of Badger before what is it like? Seems different shops are importing different brands from one another to get better prices or am I mistaken. Are there one or two ammo importers and everyone buys from them or how does it work?
