Four arrested with illegal guns

Johannesburg – Four men were arrested in Tembisa on Monday for possession of unlicensed firearms, Gauteng police said.

The group, between the ages of 18 to 23, also had a police uniform, a police badge and a credit card skimming machine used to copy information on the magnetic strips of cards, Captain Manyadza Ralizhivha said in a statement.

Police arrested them in Tembisa's Endulwini section after a local resident reported one of the men for having an illegal firearm. The first man was found with a gun holster, and he then identified another man hiding the firearm. The pair then pointed out their "friends", who were also found in possession of illegal firearms.

One of the men also had a blue police light, police-issue shirt and badge. A fourth man had an unlicensed shotgun and a credit card skimming machine.

Police appealed to local residents to continue giving them information about crime in the area. The four were being investigated to see if they could be linked to other crimes.
