Le Creuset.
We have a proud collection which come together over the last 16 years, and each has its story. For one of them, we opted to sleep the night in an airport and use the B&B's money to buy the pot.
Generally, few things beat cast iron for cooking. Except for pancakes. U till now, a guaranteed flop.

High quality stainless like say Scanpan or even Woolworths pots if they still make, does everything needed. As in with a proper base and they are no problem to clean. Cast iron is a pain being usually heavier and far more difficult to clean.
