They do roost in trees and on power lines but they nest on the ground.

Do you know of their habit to all get into one tree just before sunset and make a racket and then one by one leave for another tree to overnight?

Very interesting. Strange that until I saw the picture I never realy thought about their nesting habits. Kind of assume they just lay their egs on a patch of ground, not really making a nest. Very interesting and thanks for sharing!

Before they actually start sitting down to incubate the eggs they lay a number of eggs. The hens also lays eggs in other nests of the flock.

I did not want to touch them or pick them up but they look slightly smaller than a chicken egg.

Size: They vary but about the same as the standard size of chicken eggs (Small ones) you buy in the shop
