"S&W" Extreme Ops folder
I just got one of these from Takealot for just under R300.
At that price, I'm happy for it to get abused, damaged or lost.
The only thing I don't like about it so far, is that the pocket clip is not reversible, but it's not a trainsmash.
Anybody else got one, and how do you like it?

Re: "S&W" Extreme Ops folder
I had one as an EDC for a few years. It stood up well to almost daily use and abuse.
I removed the non-slip plastic coating from the aluminium scales, it makes it easier to slip in and out of a pocket.
The blade eventually started wobbling, can probably fix it, but at that stage I got gifted two Kershaws, with the Cryo 2 replacing the S&W as my EDC.
This knife did cement my liking for liner-lock assisted opening folders. You can do worse for R300.

Re: "S&W" Extreme Ops folder
My son claimed the one i bought for myself few years back. Only issue thus far is the blade wobble pirate spoke of, the screw holding the assembly together works loose. Bit of loctite and all is tight.
I did see one club member snap the tip of his blade off his one trying to pry something open, which tells us the blade is either very hard and brittle or lesser quality steel.

Re: "S&W" Extreme Ops folder
Cheap production knives do tend to be rather badly heat treated, or in many cases, not heat treated at all, as it adds considerably to the cost. If you couple that with relatively thin stock, well, they will break if you pry with them.
However, if you have nothing else to pry with at the time.....

Re: "S&W" Extreme Ops folder
Well no knife should be used as an improvised crow bar
I dropped my honey badger tip down and that snapped off, and then the clip came loose again
Got a CRKT CEO, been super happy

I agree, but I've been in situations where it's the only thing available, as I'm sure you have. That's all I'm saying.
