    Default safe loads

    i was spoilt over christmas, wife gave me an original .577 2 band enfield, and i also got a 20 gauge double barrelled pistol.

    what i am looking for is a safe load for each of these weapons.

    .577 i have 515gr. minnies from sean murfy and for the 20 i have no.7 pellets. happy0065

    For the .577" Enfield, the factory load was 70grains of ffg when using the minee type bullet. I would not use more than 70grain of bp behind that 500grain+ bullet. Start with about 50grains, and check for accuracy. Go up to 70grains.

    This is of course when using real bp, like SWISS or WANO. When using Sannadex, stay away from pistol grain poswder as this would cause a pressure spike which is not good for the rifle. Use rifle grain sannadex up to 80 grains.
