Yep, sure looked to me that the cap was only half-on. That the action allowed that is a big problem.

As long as you're not trying to shoot it through a piece of plumbing pipe held together by bubblegum you should be fine.

This is the tip of my middle finger on my right hand. When I was about 10 years old my first homemade blackpowder firearm was built with a piece of plumbing pipe with a plumbing angle screwed onto it as a breechface. It, predictably, exploded in my hands leaving my middle finger quite badly mangled.

Don't pretend that plumbing fittings are firearms!

Matt over at Demolition Ranch must be looking twice at the same/similar 50 Cal Serbu he bought a while back....

Most cartridges were designed over a century ago. Modern actions can handle significantly more pressure. The weak point is the base of the brass case. Sig has designed their new round with a steel base. Been wondering for a while if using an old Mauser makes sense when modern actions and steel are potentially that much stronger.

Pretty close a Howa Just kidding, I love my Howa and yeah should give a lot more tolerance and protection with the traditional design.

I bet Brandon the AK Guy must be looking twice at his design for his AK-50.

Good time to go double check how to get to the nearest medical facility to your usual shooting range and double check your first aid supplies.

And dont forget those safety glasses

Ask Tactical HQ, they go through containers worth of crates of that stuff. Many even from 1972

Ive never heard or seen any problems.
The 1972 and newer stuff has fired 100% for me, unlike some of the 2019/2020 Winchester 9mm that seems to have quite a few duds per case

Corrosion welding bullet to case. Most likely.
Less likely but possible heat from being in the sun.
    Clumping of propellant.
