    He indicated the same after I asked him. I used the knife on a hunt over the weekend and washed the blade but did not pay attention with the drying part - because hunting :). Will not make same mistake again.

    Scrub your knife lightly with the hard part of a dish washing scourer. It should take off all the rust, yet still leave the original colouring of the heat treatment.

    The best combination I've found to remove surface rust is the non scratch scourers from Spar (the pink and white ones) and a blob of Autosol.
