So I had some time to run down to the range yesterday to zero my rifle and the Saiga.

    Well... it works!
There was only on initial issue that was it had a 1 rnd mag auto eject feature. The aftermarket mag release / catch needed a little tweaking and now it functions as it should.

Had a couple early stove pipes using Saga 28gram 7.5's, but it went away after 10 rounds... I will run the gun in using some heavy 32gr SSG I have I have.

    Coming back to this thread.

I will be honest I didn't get to shoot this gun as much as I would have liked this year.
Had planned on shooting a fair amount of IPSC Shotgun but yeah... life.

Earlier in the thread I spoke about the inability to use the manual BHO with the Red Star Arms trigger and standard pin retaining springs.
I managed to get the Manual BHO back into the gun and working, but it took some modification of the hold open, as well as using an aftermarket shepherds crook for a standard Ak with some modification which is nice for loading or showing empty.

So far though I've shot about 350 rounds through the gun, about 280 have been various brands of 7.5 28gram birdshot mostly Blaser, but also Saga, and a couple others. I shot 50 rounds of S&B SG 32gram, and about 20 or so S&B Sport Slugs.

To date other than the very first time I took the gun out and ran it from the box where I had a couple stove pipes with 7.5 28gr ammo. It has run flawlessly.
The Red Star Arms trigger is something else. I have it set so there is extremely little reset travel to the extent I ran a set of poppers in a 3GN match so fast everyone though I had a run away gun... very impressed with that trigger in general.

As a side note, I'm keeping an eye out for a cheap Fixed Stock Type 56 as I'm already planning on my next project, going along the lines of Rifle Dynamics 704

Also on the list. Currently saving for an optic before I do the gun. Like the idea of an Arken like my little big friend.
