Default Is It Time For A Glock Competition Gun

Yes I know people use G17s and G34s for competition but by and large those will have upgraded triggers and will be have plenty extra money put into that gun.

I'm talking about a Shadow type pistol ready out of the box with sights and all the bells and whistles installed. I'm thinking something different from their self defense range geared totally toward competition.

Yes please! I’ve pondered the same thing in the search for my dedicated competition gun.

    Why? The box says Perfection.

    Extra money?
I highly doubt there is a stock Shadow 2s in the competition scene. Most will have a host of spring upgrades and most likely extended firing pins to go with the lighter hammer spring. Some even have different discos and grip changes etc.

My shadow 1 has got more upgrades Vs my Glock 34 gen5.

G34 gen5, Shadow 1 and Shadow 2 don't require modifications out the box they will work. Upgrades are shooter dependent.

Gen5 g34 is on par with an S2 for upgrade to Rand value.
    Gen5 g34 requires less than a shadow 1.

There is a thread or two on shadow 1 upgrades.
For me the min requirement is
Front sight change to 1mm. (Note S2 comes with this out the box?
    Pre be disco
    Extended firing pin
Various spring changes lighter hammer spring etc.

Companies like eeman and Cajun would not be making so many different triggers etc etc if there wasn't a market. So even the shadow is not fitted with all the bells and whistles.

    Last I checked a g34 is 18k Vs 26k for an S2.
Changing sights a few small bits on the g34 is less than S2. The S2 will probably need 2k worth of goodies more if you take grips.
S2 has a different gun for MOS. Glock gives you MOS in the gen5 g34.

Also what you prefer to have a better trigger out the box or better sights?
    A g34 gen5 has a better trigger Vs a shadow 1p
With the current pricing of a gen5 g34 you can have a better trigger(with upgraded sights) for less than a stock Shadow 1.

Pity IPSC does not allow a 34 in production. I would be curious to see if s2s still dominate

Yeah I have only ever run my glocks out the box, only ever changed the sights, but thats also in the books for my CZ....
Run the Glock out the box, learn how it works through experience, then run it like a stabbed rat!
A G17 owner who actually practices with his G17 will out shoot a Shadow2 owner who doesnt practice as much...
At the end of the day it all depends on how tight the nut is, the one holding the gun of course...

There is no way that Glock will look at the weighted frame models from Sig & Walther and say to themselves "Neit. Ve von't be doing dat."
