    Default "affordable" save movers

    Hi GS.

    Putting feelers out here.
I'm interested in moving a Cat2 safe from Fordsburg to Roodepoort, all the Safe Moving Co's I've asked are rahter pricey. 8k+

Just checking if any GS'ers have a somewhat more reasonable solution?

How are you planning to move it, bakkie, trailer or truck? If you can loan/borrow/ lend a pallet jack and a truck with with a high-up , bobs your uncle. How heavy is the safe?

Not if the safe is over a ton, then: Engine crane hire + bakkie .. = broken.

I've got 2 cat 2 safes that are not very big.
One made by chubb which is over 400kgs and another made by Giant which is over 600kgs

Probably easier to sell the safe and buy a new one 😀

Engine crane rated to lift a ton. Bakkie can carry a ton ... should be easy...

    Nah, do what I did.
Phone around to some transport companies, and ask who has a sky jack on their trucks plus a pallet jack available.
Let them send the pallet jack with the truck and a strong pallet. Drop the safe onto the pallet either on its side or on its back, take it to the truck with the pallet jack, use Sky jack to get it onto the truck, reverse method when home.
    Shouldn't cost more than 3k

You can always repaint the safe after it's in position at home
