You need to look at the load weight of your run-of-the-mill modern bakkies. Most can't do 1 ton.

In Fordsburg? Just leave the house/office open. The safe will get moved for you. Probably not to Roodepoort though.

Just out of interest do you have a model number of the Giant safe? I need to move and sell one before the month-end, it looks pretty heavy. It's on the 2nd floor though with no lift.

There is always the easier way if there is a bacony with grass or plants below. Remove railing, use pallet jack to move safe over edge and let gravity do the rest. Use 3T truck with HiUp to remove and send your gardener to repair the garden.

And with Murphy's Law and gravity, the safe will fall on the door, which will either break the handle or damage it, because the door is the heaviest part of the safe

Most of these large safes have removable doors. remove it!
Tte door might not be as big as the safe, but they are effing heavy. I had one that i gave as a PIF to a forum member here. a low axle trailer with about 6 guys and a pallet(dont try this without a pallet, there is no way you can grab the safe with your hands, even if you hit the weights boet.)
We could lift it onto the low trailer with the door removed. The door took about 3 guys to move if i remember. Moving it around indoors is another game. pallet jack and wooden planks for the wheels to run on so you don't crack tiles / stretch carpets.

The only thing im hesitant about is letting people know where your safe is. But a safe that size / weight, you run out of options moving and rigging by yourself.

Gladly the safe that is standing in our club survived the fall fully in tackt.

I've used them several times to move my 3 ton Cat 3 safe. Depending on distance, normally around R4000.
