Writers of years gone by
I am currently reading up on some Big Bore issues in the Big Bore section of the Forum. On one post a reference is made of Gregor Woods. In the old days when reading and studying was still done on paper the most if not all "gun related" info came from Man/Magnum magazines. I still have a heap of them that gets paged through from time to time for some nostalgia. I am just interested if anybody out here knows where are the main contributors of old nowadays? I have not bought a Man/Magnum Magazine in maybe 3-4 years (have my reasons, but not of importance here), so maybe they are still writing or are retired. Thinking of gents like Gregor Woods, Kevin Robertson (Doctari), Koos Barnard, Brian Marsh (Uncle Brian I know passed away in 2014. I loved his tales. He told the truth as it happened) etc.

Re: Writers of years gone by
Most of those guys are retired - Gregor still writes occasionally for Magnum but is essentially retired, Koos retired from SA Hunter last year and is somewhat active on Jaracal writing the odd short story and sharing his knowledge. Kevin emigrated (to North America I believe) and sold his big bores amid some fanfare on another forum. Don Heath died unexpectedly a year or two back - he'd also recently emigrated to Europe.

Many others. The quality of SA hunting and gun writers is excellent.

Robin Barkes, a real "old timer". He would have loved to live a few years earlier in history.
Keith Dyer was the "handgun" man. Always supplied in depth reviews.
I should make some time for old Magnum reading again.
