Re: Mcdonalds loses the court case
The problem, just like Mcdonalds, is fast food cannot be made healthy cheaply.
So everything is fried in vegetable oil, and this is the scourge of modern diets.
In the previous century health advisors in the states was bought out, they told society to move away from animal fats and start eating healthy vegetable oil.
All they went and did is basically f@ck up mankind.
Personally I will rather eat those viennas before I willingly eat margarine.
For those with time to kill:

The old stuff of days gone by was made using transfat, which is terrible for you.
Any stuff made with a good vegetable oil, is not bad for you in limited quantities.
Don't mistake me saying it's nicer than butter. Butter is king.
Animal fats in excess is terrible for you. Increased risk of heart desease.
But then again, I don't cut the fat off my lamb chops either lol.

Re: Mcdonalds loses the court case
Some vegetable oil is actually very effective in reducing bad cholesterol. Avocado oil for one. Other essential omega oils can come from seed and nut oils. Omega 3 and 6 is essential and unless you eat fish or nuts and seeds, you are not getting enough.
I'm allergic to fish, so I have to get omega oils in other ways.
Not all vegetables oils are bad, some are pretty good for you. Deep frying oils and such are generally the bad types.

Once you start reading about keto, banting etc, it becomes a quagmire of information. But much like the covid vaccine thread, it does make you question a LOT of the so-called “common truths” that we accepted for a long time.
