    Default Hawke Vantage 6-24 x 50 recommendation.

Anyone have any good or bad experience with this brand of scope? The quality of it seems very good but the cheap price bugs me a bit. Its for my .223

I have 3 Hawke's and one is on my 223. No problems to date.

Any really bad parallax experience with them?

To be honest I have always only shot at 100 yards and haven't tried it on targets further away. Is that what you are experiencing?

What are you going to use it for? 6-24 seems like a lot of scope for a .223.

Most don't think it's enough for air rifle...

I have a couple of Hawke’s. Two on air rifles and one on a .22. They are good value for money, quite bright, but with a bit of chroming around target edges at high magnification. It’s ok for plinking and light hunting but not really a precision scope.

The 24 power magnification is way too high for the purpose of plinking and hunting, I doubt you’ll ever use it, as the field of view will be very narrow. What do you use the 223 for?

A 223 can shoot out to 500m or futher with reasonable accuracy using 55gr bullets. The 6-24 magnification range can then be of help.
