Common issue.

Simple, really. Don’t use the safety. Rifle safeties are notoriously unreliable. Carry empty chamber, only chamber a round when shooting is imminent. By that stage your guide or whomever is with you should be behind you in any event.

In the real world there are situations where this is not practical, there will be times when there is no time to chamber a round and there will be times when chambering a round will alert the animal you are after, meaning you won't get a shot. Every hunting rifle should have a functioning safety.

Either a 45° safety or a Winchester mod. 70 type safety will work.

Sorry about that, I must have done something stupid on my pc. Here is a link to the rifle with a 45° safety fitted.

Mod 70 style safety is a nice cocnervsrion but the 45 deg option works well, and is inexpensive, easy to do. My last 45 deg saftey just touched the scope when on but worked 100%. Mauser safetys block the firing pin when on, and are well designed.
