    Default Does a Safe need to have sabs marking

    Seen plenty for sale on gumtree without a sabs mark worried about buying one and needing the damn mark

    It needs to conform to the prescribed rules.

    The Door steel must be 6mm. I believe sides 4mm. Needs to be I believe 7 lever lock not less.

    Then if a rifle safe it needs to have those bolts on door. Some mat be stationery. Normally the once on hinge side. The other will move as you lock.

    Thats about the basics it must have.

    And then must be attached to wall and floor. RollBolts are fine. But since ive used Chemical anchor I would never use roll bolts again.

    You need to supply DFO with pics of these. Well at my DFO you have to.

    I have heard where people say they had to supply the serial nr as well. But even earlier SABS marked once dont have serial nr on.

    Irrespective of SABS markings or not. Mentally you need to at least believe and feel your stuff is safe. Ask yourself would you trust the safe on its own with 1 to 2 BG's going at it. That I ask myself first before SAPS requirements.

    And then 2 weeks ago I bought a Cat 2 safe.
