Johannesburg - A man and two accomplices were arrested following a business robbery in Sinoville on Wednesday, Gauteng police said.

Colonel Neville Malila said the 29-year-old man, together with three armed men dressed in police uniform, robbed a business of cellphones and jewellery on Wednesday afternoon before fleeing the scene.

Police arrested the man in Mamelodi after a high speed chase on the highway, in which the other three managed to get away.

Investigations revealed that the vehicle used in the robbery had been stolen from a Pretoria dealership on Monday, and a security guard working on the premises was arrested on a charge of theft on Wednesday.

A 59-year-old man, who worked for the business in Pretoria, was also arrested on Wednesday on a charge of being an accomplice to the armed robbery.

The three will appear in the Mamelodi and Pretoria Magistrate's Courts respectively on Friday.
